FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
FIND OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The decision to move into a long-term care neighborhood can be overwhelming and difficult. At Manor of the Plains, a PMMA community, we work hard to help you or your loved one with the transition. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from those interested in our long-term care neighborhood. If there’s a question we haven’t answered here, contact us today.

WHAT ARE MY LONG-TERM CARE OPTIONS?

We offer private and semi-private accommodations where residents can receive qualified, around-the-clock nursing care.

What is the difference between Long-Term Care and Assisted Living?

Assisted living residents are more independent. Our assisted living residents may be able to perform more activities and can get around as they like. They may need help with certain tasks, such as housework or bathing, but they can perform many tasks on their own. Long-term care is a solution for seniors who need much more help from a dedicated caregiver, with tasks such as getting in and out of chairs, moving around and more.

WHAT PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL CARE DO YOU OFFER?

Our health services team is top-of-the-line. We have a dedicated skilled nursing team of RNs, LPNs and CNAs who provide 24-hour nursing care. We also offer a variety of physical, occupational and speech therapies customized to individual care plans.

How do your fees work?

Monthly long-term care fees are determined by the type of apartment and level of services needed. Contact us to learn more and take the next step in your journey.

DO YOU TAKE MEDICAID?

We do accept Medicaid-approved residents in long-term care.

WHAT TYPES OF SECURITY DO YOU OFFER?

Our Long-Term neighborhood is 24-hour secure community staffed 24/7. We also have a wandering alarm for residents who need the added security.

WHAT DO RESIDENTS OR THEIR LOVED ONES NEED TO PROVIDE?

Manor of the Plains provides the bed, chair and dresser. Residents or their loved ones will need to provide clothes, personal items, décor and any additional furniture.

WHAT ARE YOUR VISITING HOURS?

We are a 24-hour secure community, but visitors are welcome and encouraged any time, day or night.

CAN COUPLES LIVE IN LONG-TERM CARE TOGETHER?

Yes. Couples may share a semi-private room in Long-Term Care. They will be billed separately.

Are pets allowed in long-term care?

Pets are allowed to visit residents in Long-Term Care, but they are not allowed to live with the resident.

Can my loved one go on outings?

Yes! You have the peace of mind to know that our trained team members can help you determine whether an outing is appropriate for your loved one or not on a given day.
